Impact Instrumentation, is a medical device developer/manufacturer of respiratory care products and measuring instrumentation. Experiencing consistent growth and prosperity since its incorporation in 1977, Impact® moved to its West Caldwell, New Jersey facility in 1987, a modern, air-conditioned, 15,000 sq. ft. brick-and-block building. In 1996, this facility was expanded to over 21,000 sq. ft. and in 2002, Impact® purchased the adjacent building adding another 15,000 sq. ft. to meet its continuing growth requirements. Impact® is located approximately 40-minutes from Newark International Airport, and less than 60-minutes from New York City.

Impact® products include Uni-Vent® Portable Ventilators; AEV® Automatic Emergency Ventilators; vacuum pumps; compressors; aspirators (portable, mobile, in-wall and on-board); Rail Mounting Systems; and Performance Analyzers. In 1993, Impact® acquired the trademark, trade name, manufacturing and distribution rights to Sorensen® Suction Apparatus - a name that dates back nearly 90-years and enjoys the respect and acceptance of the international community it has served for much of this time. The combination of Impact® and Sorensen® Suction Apparatus has created one of the largest and the most diversified selections of suction equipment produced under one roof.

Known for its design creativity and product and clinical knowledge, Impact® is a much sought after development partner in areas involving space, aeromedicine and hyperbaric medicine. Impact® is registered with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and operates within requirements defined in the Code of Federal Regulations “Quality System Regulation”. In accordance with this Regulation, Impact® is subject to an FDA compliance audit every two years. Impact is certified to ISO-13485:2003. To comply with the QSR and above Standard, Impact® has created a Quality Management System. This System governs each component, sub-assembly and product - from design through each phase of the production process.
